Is the Firefly logo popular enough?

    Posted: 14 Dec 2019 02:05 AM PST

Hello, I have a frend who's really into The Last Of Us, and I was planning (as it will be his birthday soon) to gift him a really cool custom sweater with this Firefly logo on it. The thing is I haven't played the game, is this symbol popular enough so that he will instantly recognize it? Thanks!

how do you check your game history?

    Posted: 14 Dec 2019 05:16 PM PST

ok hello so i am not a gamer in any sense of the word, i literally just love this one game and i've played it through 3 times, but the last time i did that was about 2 years ago. i finally have time to play it again now but i can't figure out how to check my game history (?? if that's a thing) like, i'm pretty sure i finished it on grounded mode, but i want to know if there's a way to check and see if i did? i'm so sorry if this is a dumb question lol, but my decision on which difficulty i'm gonna play it on this time around kinda hinges on whether or not i played it in grounded before. thanks :)

    Ellie’s Bag

    Posted: 14 Dec 2019 01:00 AM PST

I'm sure everyone who's played through this game already knew this... but on my fifth play through, I finally found this little tidbit.

During the Winter arc, Ellie verbally responds to things that are in her bag. I know that you can look through her bag at the very end to find her mom's note (among other things), but I've never heard her respond to these things during the Epilogue.

To hear her say "I'm still trying to make you proud, mom" at the end of the note— or even her regretting her last words to Sam when she looks at the Robot...

... it was a happy little Easter egg that makes me love this character a little bit more.

Thank you, Naughty Dog... for all of these little intricate details. You truly made one of the best characters ever— and I can't wait to see what you do with her next.

[SPOILERS] A question about Ellie's immunity in Part II

    Posted: 14 Dec 2019 09:57 AM PST

Why is Ellie wearing a gas mask in this scene from the latest trailer?

A lot of people have probably noticed that Ellie wears her gas mask despite being immune in the "Patrol" demo that we saw when the press played it. The reason for that seemed fairly obvious, she's hiding her infection from Dina because Joel told her to.

But what about this scene from the trailer? If you didn't even notice it I wouldn't blame you, it's on screen for less than one second.

Ellie is fighting two Shamblers at the same time in a fairly small looking area, which makes me think that this is a tough combat encounter, much later on in the game. Probably even later than the "Suburbs" demo, where Ellie fights a single Shambler in a much more open area (according to the press who played it). So why is she still hiding her immunity with the mask?

If she's traveling with a companion, it can't be Joel or Tommy, because they both know about her condition. There would be no point in wearing the mask with either one of them. Perhaps it's Dina? We've already seen Ellie hide her infection from Dina earlier on in the game, so this doesn't seem too unlikely to me. This would also mean that Dina lives past the opening in Jackson, and the trailer is just trickily edited to make it seem like she dies. Or maybe it's a completely new companion that we don't know about yet. Or maybe her immunity is somehow beginning to fail her, and she genuinely needs the mask to avoid spores now.

I'm not sure what's going on, but I'd be interested in seeing what people think about this.

I would love some extended universe content about Joel's life between the outbreak and Ellie

    Posted: 13 Dec 2019 11:44 PM PST

There is just so much weight behind it when its discussed in game. I want to know about Joel's time as a Hunter, and how he and Tommy changed as people. I want to know about the crazy racket that Joel and Tess had going, how Bill fortified an entire town in a highly infected zone, all of it. Mostly I just want to know what insane reign of terror happened for Joel to kill his way from Austin to Boston what sort of big battles were in between. Even just some books would be great if not games or animations.
