    Teen Boys Don't Change

At the aquarium when you're Abby exploring the Aquarium for the first time and you go into the room that the boat family had slept in. The older son's bed, with a woman's magazine under his pillow and some tissues right next to it. Bold move when you sleep in a open room next to your parents, but hormones don't care about a pandemic. As the good doctor once said, "you do what you need to do to get it done."

    \"Ehhh...I guess I can work with this.\"

Photo session by Lucas Terceiro, with Nekazaria as Ellie -The Last Of Us II

Day 3 was a not a good day for Abby.

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 08:05 AM PDT

    1. She was called a piece of shit to her face by one of her closest friends.

    2. She lost Manny.

    3. had to see Lev kill his own mother.

    4. She lost Yara (who she went through hell to save.)

    5. Went through that crazy sequence in Haven while being forced to kill her former comrades.

    6. And to end it all, she comes home to Owen and Mel dead. While ending on bad terms with them.

Abby had it really rough the more that I think about it. And I understand her rage in the theatre fight more.

Who’s voice is on the tape recorder

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 04:00 PM PDT

So I'm replaying Part 2 and I'm on the part where Ellie goes to the firefly hospital and she finds a recorder saying that "the only person who can develop a vaccine is dead" is this meant to be Nora or Abby or just some random firefly saying this stuff

Was Jordan suposed to be THAT stupid or What?

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 10:51 PM PDT

First he disobeys Owen's order to guard the perimeter (which allows ellie to sneak in, also gets him a Nice scar)

Then he wants nothing but to put a bullet on Ellie's head, but when he's seen again he wants to play detective with Ellie

And imediatly afterwards he decides to turn his back to the one person who wants nothing but to see him dead and also decides to slowly strangle Dina instead of just shooting her, giving Ellie more time to free herself (and he even left her switchblade near, for reasons)

This guy's only reason for being in the story is to fuck up time and time again

What new, basic mechanic would you want in TLOU3?

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 07:23 AM PDT

Main example - TLOU2 had the dodge mechanic, which was a game changer really. Gave you enough squeezing room to get away even if you mess up and get near a clicker.

The silencer would be another example. What would you guys think would be a simple, basic addition to the third game?

    The Darkest Part 2 Timeline

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 12:13 PM PDT

As depressing as Part 2 is I think we can do better (or worse?). So I thought it would be a fun thought experiment to think of the most depressing version of Part 2 we can think of (without too drastically changing the story). Here's what I came up with,

At the theater confrontation Lev doesn't get there in time and Abby slits Dina's throat with Ellie watching. Abby knocks out Ellie and leaves with Lev.

Tommy and Ellie return to Jackson with Tommy crippled the same as canon. Ellie is even more hellbent on revenge and sets out immediately when Tommy gets his tip.

At the final confrontation on the beach Ellie drowns Abby. She leaves Lev floating in the boat.

Ellie's mission complete she feels no better. In fact her PTSD and self loathing have only intensified since returning from Santa Barbara.

She makes a trip back to the museum to try to rekindle some semblance of the humanity she'd lost. The Firefly skeleton is still there, slightly more decayed than last time.

Ellie enters the space capsule and closes the door. As the final frame centered on the capsule pans out, a singular gunshot echoes through the museum. <roll credits>

finally got my hands on an ellie nendoroid and she is just the cutest

Hypothetically in TLOU Part III, how would the residents of Jackson, and in turn, the world react if Ellie's biggest secret was finally revealed?

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 04:34 PM PDT

Unlike the first game which felt to me like a pretty self-contained story (at least at the time) Part II's conclusion left the story WIDE open for a third installment with so many questions and loose ends left on the table. Now that she's able to move on from Joel and made peace with Abby the question remains... what will she do with her gift of immunity? How would the community of Jackson react? Would Dina and Maria and the rest of Jackson find out that their trek to Seattle was justice for a man who potentially doomed humanity? I think Ellie's immunity would have huge implications on the rest of the world. Parallels could be made with her and the Seraphites because I think no doubt people would flood to Jackson in awe of her immunity, maybe even to worship her or make her some kind of symbol for the potential of the new world to heal. I really hope there are more themes of tribalism in the next game too, the whole WLF vs. Seraphite backdrop was such a fucking cool thing to see, the world going even more to shit and Jackson being at odds with other settlements while Ellie remains a ray of hope for the world to move beyond the fungus ඞ. Thoughts????

Just finished The Last of Us One

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 10:32 AM PDT

It was on survivor. I finished the game on normal about 3 years ago, but I barely remembered it and was far younger. Upon finishing it again, I cried. Such an excellent game.

I wonder if Joel made the right choice. If the needs of the many outweigh the few... all I know is that humanity became animals due to the apocalypse. To be an animal is to live, goddammit, no matter what. There's beauty in life... the giraffes, Joel and Ellie talking, even with Sara and Joel. And there's also evil, as shown by the apocalypse. The point is life, though. Joel had no vitality before Ellie... now he's living again. He had a life after Sara, but he was not living.

Now he's living with Ellie and himself. He can rest now, even if he made the technically wrong choice. Life is worth living.

    On to the second game!

    Favourite moment from TLOU2?

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 12:46 PM PDT

I finally got around to finishing part 2 and I'm honestly broken. Can't wait for NG+ but I need sometime to recover emotionally first lmao.

Those of you that enjoyed it, what was your most memorable moment from your first playthrough? From gameplay, cut scenes etc.

For me it has to be Ellies Birthday at the museum. The way ND manage to pull you back from seeing her as a hardened killer to just a child that missed out on so much because of the apocalypse, is just one part of a lot of truly memorable moments in both games. Plus it felt like a nod to the Giraffe scene in the 1st which was also one of my favourites.

    One Year Later

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 12:46 AM PDT

It has now been over a year since Part 2 and it still lives in my head rent free. I have played several great games since then (Bloodborne, FF7 Remake, RE Village, Spider-Man PS4 to name a few) but none of them have left as much of a lasting impression as TLOU2 (except maybe Tifa in FF7 for obvious reasons)

I just can't get TLOU2 out of my head - surely I can't be the only person who feels this way?!
