I managed to avoid spoilers for almost a year and just finished part 2. Posted: 17 Mar 2021 03:06 PM PDT I left this sub when the leaks started to show up and I have been extremely cautious about everything TLOU since. Just finished the game and I'm so glad that I avoided to get infected by all the negativity. What a game. Bold, fresh, extremely intense and everything from a "safe" sequel. Is "one of us" still a thing? [link] [comments]

What impact did TLOU have in your life? Posted: 17 Mar 2021 07:30 PM PDT I just saw this post on r/AskReddit, asking gamers what games have a special meaning to them and why. For me, it is The Last of Us Part I and Part II because: Part II, helped me actually do something about that void. The story for me was more than just "revenge is bad". The game did a great job exploring grief, trauma, forgiveness and acceptance. The story delves into Ellie's journey of self-destruction, mainly because of how much she deeply regrets not forgiving Joel sooner. Part II hits closer to home for this reason, because I learned that it is never too late to start forgiving someone. Because of this game, I started forgiving my own dad. I started spending more time with him like going to play tennis in the weekends. I'm so thankful for Naughty Dog for creating such a heart-wrenching emotional games. I now have a healthier relationship with my dad, and hold these games really close to my heart. I am curious and interested to hear what impact these games could have had in your lives! I’m tired of the hate around this game so let’s talk about what we liked. Posted: 17 Mar 2021 11:21 AM PDT Its been nearly a year and people are still loosing their minds over TLOU2. You're completely allowed to dislike or even hate the game, but I'm tired of seeing people talk about how "horrible" and "objectively bad"it is. I just want to enjoy the game in peace, without worrying about someone else coming in and ruining the mood. But any time I go on a post related to TLOU, outside of this sub, there's ALWAYS someone coming in and talking about how much they hate it. I know most people moved on, and that's great, but man is it tiring. So instead of whining all day, I want you to tell me what you liked about the game. It can be whatever you want: from a cutscene, to a line, to a gameplay feature, etc. doesn't matter, as long as it's an aspect of the game, that you liked. I'll start, I think the art direction for TLOU2 is phenomenal. I'm not just talking about raw graphics, as impressive as those are, I'm talking about the work the artist behind this game put in, the environments, the landscapes, the buildings and the way they look, decades after the apocalypse. It's beautiful to look at and I think people undercut the art direction just because the raw graphics are so impressive. Even if TLOU2 had much lower graphical fidelity, the game would still be gorgeous. The high fidelity is only the cherry on top. [link] [comments]
