Finished The Last of Us Part II. Honestly one of the best games I have ever played. I remember playing the first one back in 2013 when I was only 10 years old and instantly falling in love with it. Thank you Naughty Dog so much for this masterpiece of a series! Here are some screenshots I took.

What would work best as a DLC?

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 02:36 PM PDT

I think the best bet is Abigail and Levs journey from Seattle to Santa Barbara. Nice little 5 hour DLC. So much good content there.

I don't think Druckmann will touch Ellie or Joel tbh until another big game.

Was thinking maybe something involving Tommy as a playable character too.

    It is okay to understand

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 04:59 PM PDT

I am sure this goes without saying for most people but I feel like it's okay to sympathize and understand all sides in TLOU 2. Whether it is Ellie, Abby or even what Joel did at the end of the first game they are all right in there own way even if they do things we don't agree with. That is the amazing nature of the game even if what the characters are doing is considered "wrong" Naughty Dog gives us so much to empathize with the characters and show why they make the decisions they do. Sometimes I see hate for Joel (I use hate loosely here) sometimes for Ellie and a bunch for Abby but they are just human beings people who make mistakes like any of us. I love all three characters even if the things they do hurt each other and imo that is what makes both games truly special.

What was the tensest moment of either 2 games for you?

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 06:21 PM PDT

For the first game it was being trapped under the Pittsburgh Hotel (I think that's what it's called) having to get the keycard and gtfo of there while avoiding a shit ton of infected. The 2nd game it was the building where you have a good 7-8+ stalkers just tiptoeing around you waiting to rush you at any point. The fact that I can't sense them is what makes them so fucked lmao

    Cinematography in TLOU 2

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 07:47 PM PDT

The cinematography in Abby's forest cutscene when she's captured by the Seraphites (the one that was first shown at Paris Games Week 2017) is nothing short of stunning. In case you don't recall, it's mainly one long tracking shot that gradually, naturally pans down from the sky, down to the brush, all the way around the various characters as they all interact, and finally cuts after several minutes upon reaching its climax. It's so well done that at first I didn't even realize it was all one "take." Words can't do it justice.

Which leads me to wonder why all the other cutscenes in the game look so different. The rest of the cinematography is okay, don't get me wrong, but it's pretty standard shot-reverse shot stuff with the occasional pan and cut to a close-up.

Why do you think that is? Do you think Naughty Dog were testing the waters with this one scene for more "experimental" cinematography, reminiscent of Hideo Kojima's latest games? Do you think it was someone's pet project that they decided to go the extra mile on? Do you think ND were going to go with this concept for the whole game but abandoned it later on? Did they not want to overdo this style? Were there technical limitations due to the in-engine rendering? Lastly, how did you feel about the cinematography in TLOU 2? Did you notice it change as the game went on?

Very curious to hear your thoughts.

My idea for a dlc or spin off game , in best scenario it would be like 20-30 hours long

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 07:33 PM PDT

My idea would be showing Tommy's perspective after Joel's death and his journey through Seattle , and like Ellie you have flashbacks but flashbacks of Tommy and joel right after Sarah's death and how he and Tommy got through them tough times acting as a parallel and drive for Tommy when he's seeking Abby and her friends , . The first flashback could be the burial of Sarah , I imagine a shot of both joel and Tommy over her grave crying , then each flashback showing their journey as the outbreak just happened , maybe we could see how joel met bill? and the non flashbacks just be Tommy going through Seattle , we get to play the sniper battle on day 3 , we get to see the torture in the serevenah day 1 and more of just what he went through . Think it would be very cool

Finished the game a few days ago and absolutely loved it! Took this while crying and thought it came out pretty good.
