I have been looking for Joel for months. And I almost bought a used one for $30 last week off Mercari. Glanced through GameStop today and snagged him for $12!!

    Mac Quayle

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 04:06 PM PDT

I know we always praise Gustavo Santaolalla for his amazing job in both of TLOU soundtracks, but honestly, TLOU II's soundtrack wouldn't have been the same without Mac Quayle.

The Cycle Continues might be the most impressive work in the entire playlist, as it carries so much feeling. I can feel both Ellie and Abby's rage/sadness/disappointment, and even if you haven't played the game in a while... you know exactly when the fight starts because the song expresses it in such a gut-wrenching manner.

Gustavo was in charge of all the melodic pieces, those that carry so much longing and nostalgia. And then Mac just creates the explosive pieces when you know something is happening or is about to happen.

The Last of Us is full of talented people, and I'm glad Mac Quayle joined in to create such beautiful music. Truly impressive work.

EDIT: Do you guys have a favourite piece of any of the soundtracks? And if yes, which one and why?

Hello does anyone think the Fungus in the last of us is cool or interesting?

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 07:15 PM PDT

The mutations may be gross but I love this type of body horror, any fungal or virus in gaming that causes mutations and creates cool monsters

After a few play throughs I’m beginning to like Abby

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 04:06 PM PDT

I think we can understand that Abby obviously promised her father that she would find her fathers killer and kill him.

Ellie does understand why Joel was Murdered and finally accepts it.

Abby is just a daughter who just wanted to Avenge her innocent father

Do you think we'll get a Team up of Abby & Ellie taking on the rattlers?

A scene I wish was in TLoU2 [SPOILERS] (if that still matters)

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 08:27 AM PDT

I wish Ellie would have acknowledged at some point in The Last of Us Part 2 that she viewed Joel as her father.

Throughout my first playthrough I was imagining an encounter between Ellie and Abby, perhaps before they fight, wherein Abby explains her decision to kill Joel by saying "He killed my Dad"

And then Ellie's response to that being "and you killed mine..."

That's it. No other instances, just that. That's all I wanted. It would have made me so sad, because it would have implied that this is the first time she's openly referred to Joel as her father, and that she would never get to say it to him.

Recording a podcast this week focusing on TLOU Pt 2 and looking for some questions/topics.

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 10:52 PM PDT

Hi All! Recording an episode of my new podcast this week, and it's a retrospective on TLOU Pt 2, which is my favourite game of all time, looking at the game itself and the toxicity etc that surrounds it. I thought "what better place to source some questions". So any interesting topics or questions that you can think of that maybe you haven't seen discussed or anything?

    Thanks!

    Strong TLOU vibes

Did I discover the faction symbol for the cannibals? Around 50% of them have this stripe patch and it seems to be an identifier like the Firefly armbands or the WLF patches

    Factions 2 can be golden

    Posted: 04 Jul 2021 12:46 AM PDT

    Spoilers for pt 2:

One thing I'm sure many ppl have pondered b4 is the possibilities of Factions 2, tlou part 1 was legendary with its campaign alone, plus factions made it even more playable than it was previously.Idm to sound like a stan but I dont think part 2 was given enough credit for its gameplay, I'll boldly admit it had more than a few plot holes in it and Neil defiently could have done better. But getting into combat encounters whether infected or humans felt very swift with how the guns move and sound and how developed the AI was, and the dismemberment and blood flow had major red dead 2 vibes.

Playing as Ellie was fun when I thought you were her for the entire game, switching to abby and figuring out pretty much the rest of the game was her playthrough irritated me like many fans did, but once you figure out the sheer destruction she's capable of with her fists alone (Almost) makes you feel like Joel again.

I think if ND introduced factions 2 with iconic maps from the campaign like the news station and the park square with the Seraphites, but be able to have more armor options, more skills, perhaps face customization and or body customization, cause for example Ellie was skinny and could only use her knife but was swifter, abby on the other hand was bulk and could fight runners hand to hand with little issue, technically u could be able to have different body sizes with different pros and cons.

I feel like if executed properly tlou 2 sales could go through the roof like its better version pt 1, haters who didn't like the story or abby would have a fun reason to play again and wouldn't have to regret spending 60$ on a game.

    Do you think we'll get a TLOU2 Director's Cut?

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 10:54 AM PDT

    Does Ellie know?

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 11:50 PM PDT

After playing the game 5 or 6 times and getting platinum it had just occurred to me - does Ellie actually know that the person Joel killed that day was Abby's dad? I guess when Ellie was beating Nora to death she'd probably get that from her, but is there anywhere in the game that definitely indicates that Ellie knows Joel killed Abby's father?

Hi I’m very new to the last of us and exited to play it! I recently had a problem why I was downloading the game. The last of us has been on 99 percent downloaded for 6 hours now. Anyone else with this problem or have a solution if so thanks. I’m on ps4

    Has anyone played TLOU2 chronologically?

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 10:00 PM PDT

If so, would you recommend it? I'm guessing it's a bit un-immersive that you'd have to go switch between the chapters all the time. Also, the difficulty changes must be weird. Wish they'd release a chronological version of the game like Beyond Two Souls did.
