    Details I Found During Ellie's Day 2

    I've made a ton of these details posts, and I'm sorry if it's annoying, but I really love scouring this game for whatever short of detail I can find, and this is the best place I can think of to share my findings. If you missed the ones I found on Day 1, you can go here, and that post has links to posts I've made about Jackson and The Farm.

    This post will not contain details about the two flashbacks, as I plan to do a separate post about all of the flashbacks in one, since there aren't many and those flashbacks aren't really apart of those days because those events didn't actually happen on that day. Ellie just thought of them on that day. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy what I found!

    • Back in my Jackson post, I noted some of the book titles I found. For instance, Joel owned a few IRL books such as Moby Dick. In Hillcrest, I found a few more IRL books. There's War & Peace by Leo Tolstoy, A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens, The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, and The Rose-Garden Husband by Margaret Widdemer.

    • Throughout the Hillcrest chapter, you'll find notes relating to this guy named Boris, an archery master. You'll also find a mechanic garage full of spores and runners. At one point, you'll enter a house and find a note on a living room coffee table. This note is from Boris addressed to Yolanda. He expresses anger that his neighborhood didn't join him in his quest for revenge on the WLF for killing his daughter. He says he "deserved Wolf blood," and expressed paranoia that they were plotting against him. Turns out, the runners from that garage were locked in there by Boris. He poisoned them and put them in there knowing there were spores. However, someone named Uli woke up, and bit Boris. So, Boris also turned. After finding this note, you shimmy into a garage and get attacked by a stalker. Guess what? That's Boris.

    • After fighting Boris, you'll climb over a fence in the backyard and get dropped into another combat encounter with a WLF patrol. If you've been relatively stealthy up to this point, the patrol will say something about the male trespasser (Jesse) and the male trespasser only. However, if you've alerted the WLF to your presence at any point before this encounter, one of the WLF patrolers will say to their comrade "we're looking for another trespasser! A girl!" and the other person will yell to everyone else that they're looking for two trespassers now.

    • After meeting Jesse, you'll attempt to take the WLF's truck, but someone will grab Jesse. You can actually melee attack this person, and Ellie will stab the WLF soldier in the neck with her blade.

    • The clicker that jumps on your truck needs to be shot before Jesse drives the truck into the lake or else you die. It won't drown in the lake.

    • After the Finding Strings flashback, Ellie can loot a 7/11 type of store. In it, I found shotgun ammo, which lead to Ellie commenting "Good, who knows how many Wolves are at that hospital."

    • Next, Ellie will come across a conference center on her left and a building called Kingsgate Brewing Co. on the right. Kingsgate has infected inside. If you choose to engage with these infected, one of them will drop a note regarding four WLF deserters. Later, you'll sneak into an apartment building, and there's a workbench inside. If you interact with this workbench, these four WLF deserters will jump you and try to kill you, mistaking you for a Wolf.

    • After killing the deserters, you'll find a note from Ji-So, addressed to Melissa. Ji-So is offering Melissa to join them in deserting, and says that their group is planning to "head south and see if those rumors are true." They add, "Maybe it's all bullshit, but I'll take hopeful bullshit over Isaac's fanaticism any day of the week." I believe this group of deserters were planning to go to Santa Barbara to check out the rumors of the Fireflies regrouping.

    • Also after reading that note, Ellie will be disgusted that they thought she was a Wolf.

    • There have been a few posts in this sub recently about how you can see the sky bridges as Abby in her sections. Turns out, you can see them as Ellie, too. I only saw them twice on Day 2, which you can see here

    • When you swim up to the hospital, the path in front of you were the WLF boat comes in is the path Abby took while swimming to the hospital. You can even see the building she jumped down from on your far left.

    • This is a Day 2 and Day 3 detail technically, but if you avoid killing Bear the dog at the hospital, he'll show up on Day 3 during another WLF patrol. Don't want to get too presumptive here, but I believe Ellie shows up a while after Abby has gone back to the Aquarium.

    • You can shoot the PS Vita that Whitney (Vita girl) leaves behind, although there's no bullet hole on the system, and the music/game keep playing.

    • There's an interesting conversation between WLF soldiers at the hospital that you can hear if you start off by using stealth. One of the WLF will comment on how they say Scars "within blocks of the FOB," which leaves another soldier in disbelief. I believe this soldier may have been one of the ones to rescue Abby, Manny, Mel, and Alice in Abby's Day 1 at that gas station. I could be wrong about this, however.

    • In the cutscene where Ellie first confronts Nora, whichever gun Ellie has in her waistband is the gun she uses. This is the gun you equip in the right small gun holster. So, if you have your set up to where Joel's revolver is the first small gun you draw when you hit left on the D Pad or when you hit R1 for the quick switch, then she'll hold Nora up using Joel's revolver. Here's a side-by-side of her using both weapons.

    • You can get close to Nora during the chase, but if you get TOO close, Nora just zooms ahead out of nowhere. It's kind of funny actually.

    • After the shootout in the spore infested room, you can investigate the room the clickers came out of. There seems to be two very old clickers on these hospital beds, and I think they may have been merged together at one point. You can see what I saw here.

    • If you ever get lost looking for Nora after the gunfight, just follow the sound of her coughing.

    • I believe Nora broke her arm on the fall, which is why it lays limply at her side during the last scene we see of her.

    • One final detail for you lovely people: Ellie never returns the hug that Dina gives her when Ellie returns to the theatre. She goes to put her arms around Dina, but she stops, and puts them back at her side.
