Neil Druckmann as a character in "The Last of Us" World. (Fan Concept)

    Posted: 24 Jan 2021 01:24 AM PST

I would never have considered him for the role before, but Guy Pearce in 'The Rover' has massive Joel energy

If Part 2 showed something like this in the game, I think it would rip my heart out.

    Posted: 24 Jan 2021 10:37 AM PST

I sometimes wonder if Ellie went right next to Joel's corpse and hugged his lifeless body after Dina woke her up after being knocked out once Abby and her friends left.

If the game ever showed a shot of Ellie hugging that corpse I think I would've absolutely lost it.

[SPOILERS] Ellie and David’s theory on luck

    Posted: 24 Jan 2021 11:50 AM PST

In Part 1, David tells Ellie they did a good job fighting the infected and she scoffs and says "we got lucky." He replies no, there's no such thing as luck, everything happens for reason.

In Part 2, Dina gives Ellie a bracelet "for luck," and Ellie responds "I don't believe in luck."

Does anyone think this connects or was on purpose? Could the encounter with David have had this lasting of an impact on Ellie?

TLOU2 Level Design Project + Dev Log Series

I am a Game Designer and Level Designer who recently finished studying game development. Due to covid it has been impossible to get a job so I decided to make a fan Level Design based in the world of The Last of Us Part II.

I am also doing a Dev Log series (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUXpJki9N03yEUfQzyJYzagYEFCKBqPpL) on this project on my YouTube channel - OneUp Game Dev. Thought it would be great to have a few of you people check it out. My dream is to work at Naughty Dog one day and hope that some of the people working in the studio somehow get a glimpse of this project.

PS. This is the first time I'm making videos with voice overs, so please excuse my weird voice overs and unprofessionalism. It would mean a lot to me if you could like the videos and also subscribe to the channel.

    Thank you!!

Why are people still mad at the names “plot hole”

    Posted: 24 Jan 2021 11:50 AM PST

Joel giving his name is not "out of character", or illogical, it makes perfect sense and is not unusual in the slightest.

Names in our current world are actually more useful then in the world of tlou. Today we have social media, and if you have someone's first and last name, you can find out almost anything about them, but in tlou, they don't really mean much at all, save for a few exceptions, like the ones presented in the game.

If Abby found a guy named Joel, that isn't enough evidence to go by to murder him, buuuut... she knew Joel was in Wyoming, AND that he had a brother named Tommy. The amount of people that Joel thinks would know both of these things is probably 0. He has no clue that firefly sympathizers are still out there, he has no reason to think that someone would be able to track down his location, and walk thousands of miles across America to find him. The game makes a point that this it is super unusual for everyone to do that. Now I don't think Joel would have given out his last name to these people, because that IS a lot more risky, but he didn't need to, because Abby knew about Tommy.

AND he literally gives out Ellie's name when he first arrives in Jackson in Part I, before he sees Tommy. Ellie gives out Joel's name when they first meet Henry and Sam. Ellie gives out her own name to David. Joel tells the leader of the fireflies, (who he doesn't trust at all) his name, so that should basically put this argument to rest, but people keep repeating it.

    sigh
