The very first shots of Owen............................... Posted: 17 Jan 2021 07:26 PM PST The very first shots of Owen is him looking into a window establishing him as a dreamer that wondering about his place in the world. That sets up his disillusionment about the WLF. [link] [comments]

A little detail regarding Seattle map Posted: 17 Jan 2021 08:09 AM PST Before we reach to Seattle we will find a map and use it to highlight different places during the first part of Ellie's Day 1. After this we won't be able to check the map holding the PS4 touch panel. Anyway, this map will keep being updated with Abby's friends locations in real time. You can check it out anytime on the collectible tab. Aquarium is rounded with blood due to Nora's murder. This map is what makes Abby locate Ellie's position. [link] [comments]

A response to NakeyJakey’s video. Posted: 17 Jan 2021 05:24 PM PST -You go through the game killing everything, conflicting with the final messaging of the game Rebuttal: Ludonarrative dissonance, not only that but the in-game notes if you paid any attention at all does a great deal at demonizing the enemies you fight, they outright murder and maim anyone for just walking through their "territory" there is no justification for what they do at all meanwhile all Ellie wants to do is get past these locations, and PLEASE, stop with this childish,surface-level take on the game's message, it's not about le violence, it's about revenge, redemption, forgiveness, love and how taking it away can turn us into shells of our former selves, irredeemable monsters. -From the first point, he explains that the game should allow for non-killing options through gameplay like MGS2 and MGS 3. (Brings up The Sorrow boss as an example of a great way to merge this gameplay and story to make it less conflicting) Rebuttal: How is she supposed to have a tranquilizer gun in the post-apocalypse? not only that but as I said before the enemies deserve every single bullet they get. -You're not allowed to kill or let the main character die(Abby) by another main character halfway through the game because the game makes you follow a script instead of improvising with possible different outcomes. Rebuttal: Not having split decisions for a story has nothing to do with how dated the game design is, This is a linear, story-driven game, criticizing it like this is basically criticizing all story-driven games, they want you to experience and go through scripted sequences and events, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, at this point, it boils down to preference more than """"outdated game design"""" if you don't like linear games there are hundreds and hundreds of copy/paste open-world RPG's waiting for you, go play them instead. -Too many moments where it's like a movie and control is taken away(he's the type who likes gameplay first) Rebuttal: This one boils down largely to immersion, if you are immersed with the game then you will have no problem at all with them, but if you fail to get yourself immersed and even dislike the story then you obviously won't like them. -Wanted more game mechanics other than stealth and killing(wanted the game to be about more than just this and feel more open, and take notes from games like Red Dead 2 and Breath of the Wild) Rebuttal: the aforementioned games are open world, TLOU2 is linear, enough said. -Dislikes some animation priority(picking up items) just like Red Dead 2. Rebuttal: What? the animations don't even last this long or even as long as RDR2's, they are quick and seamless not to mention animations are better and more immersive than having the MC magically pick up items into his backpack -Disconnect between what Ellie wants and what the player wants Rebuttal: Stop self-inserting yourself as Ellie, this is the journey that they want you to go through, you are not Ellie, you are not Abby, you are here to go through their respective tales of downfall and redemption [link] [comments]

I just realized this & it's quite sad Posted: 17 Jan 2021 03:12 AM PST People are damn near going to the ends of the earth to defend cdpr who knowingly released a broken cookie cutter ubisoft open world game that got removed from the PS store but The Last Of Us 2 (a game thats a technical & artist masterpiece) gets shit on because people are mad Abby kills Joel [link] [comments]

A Joel plot point I wish naughty dog elaborated on Posted: 17 Jan 2021 04:07 PM PST Joel never goes into much detail upon his wife i wish they had elaborated that like could she still be alive fighting through infected just as Joel had been or did she die sometime before the infection? I really want more detail upon her since I feel like this could add a lot more to his depth despite being dead. What are your thoughts upon Joel's wife? Do you think she could still be out there or do you think she's already dead? (Just to add I haven't watched much interviews or anything so if this was covered already pease fill me in thanks) [link] [comments] |
