TIL Nadji Jeter who voices Sam in the first game also voices Miles Morales!

Longest 2 months of my life but well worth the wait. Brought a little piece of Jackson, Wyoming down south to the Carolinas. May your survival be long.

    It FINALLY arrived!

If you want to do permadeath, I recommend skipping this cutscene as soon as it starts. You'll see why. I'm thankful this wasn't a whole game playthrough!

    Ellie's mask

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 01:33 PM PST

Anyone else notice that her mask was actually broken by the fall and not the runner's punch? There's an audible glass-breaking sound when the punch occurs, but if you look closely, the mask is already damaged. Just thought that was interesting.

Just watched the film Misery after seeing this tweet from Neil. Feels eerily similar to the sheer outrage from a lot of the internet whenever LOU2 is mentioned. I really appreciate how this sub favours genuine discussion rather than the constant bashing and hate you see elsewhere. Great film too!

    Grounded vs Grounded+ differences

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 01:32 PM PST

So I've played this game a lot and I've completed it on Grounded+ with Whole Game permadeath (yay!). This took about 2 months of trying every day and probably around 200 hours... Needless to say I know how the game behaves in that difficulty inside and out.

Recently I've started playing the game again, this time in New Game Grounded (no permadeath... for now) And I've noticed some differences. This topic has come up often in this sub and usually people can't really say what changes between new game (NG) and new game plus (NG+) difficulties. So here's what I've found, keep in mind I may be wrong about some of this, it's hard to pinpoint.

    • Some supply pick ups are of higher value in NG (eg a 0.5 pick up in NG might become a 0.25 pick up in NG+). I've only noticed this on a couple places though, mostly it's similar

    • Seemingly a tiny bit more supplies in NG, though that is thoroughly offset by the supplies being available earlier in NG+ and being able to craft more per supply.

    • There are more bricks and bottles in NG

    • Enemies seem to detect you more slowly in NG (I've tried out some strats that just didn't work in NG+ because I was always spotted which worked perfectly in NG)

    • Human enemies seem to have less precise aiming, but it's hard to tell

    • You take less damage in NG

    • Dogs seem to be easier to avoid in NG, they pick up your scent more easily in NG+

    • Infected run more slowly in NG (on Grounded+ you cannot outrun them)

    • Arrow headshots have a MUCH lower chance of breaking in NG

Realistically, these differences don't amount to much but they do balance out the fact that you have more weapons and skills in NG+. For those planning on doing Grounded or Grounded+ with whole game permadeath, I think both are comparable because it's so hard to complete the game without dying either way and in both cases the slightest mistake can end your run. It's more about finding a safe strategy, executing perfectly and hoping for the best than pure skill. As a general recommendation, I think NG Grounded is more interesting because you have more stuff to think about with the skills and weapon upgrades, and there are fewer frustratingly empty drawers and cupboards due to the parts and meds to pick up. Grounded+ feels like walking aimlessly from encounter to encounter in comparison

The last of us 1 remake for Ps5

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 09:57 PM PST

Anyone think it'll be possible for a proper tlos1 remake for ps5? Wouldn't it be fucking amazing to play the game again but with tlos2 graphics and gameplay. Maybe Joel can't dodge coz he wouldn't be as nimble but when u play as Ellie you can.

Or at the very least, maybe a remaster of the remastered version already??

I was watching a scene from the film Babel and I realised that Brad Pitt would make a perfect Joel in a film or series
