Some impressions from a reviewer of the game

    Posted: 06 Jun 2020 03:31 PM PDT

One of the reviewers in my country has answered some questions about the game. I've decided to compile his answers in one post to share them with you. Enjoy!

    • He's seen people's discussions of the spoilers, and even those who dug deep into the leaks made pretty wrong conclusions about the plot, because some scenes could be misunderstood without context. Basically, none of the "plot summaries" and theories he has seen were 100% accurate. Even if you've seen all the spoilers, the game will surprise you many times.
    • He did nothing else in his free time besides playing the game until he's completed it. One day he was playing for 9 hours in a row, going to bed at 6 a.m., and was unable to fall asleep because of nervous tension.
    • Mystery Woman's physique is explained in the plot. He thinks people will like her when they learn why she's like that. He also says that he knows why they made her muscles even bigger since Paris Games Week 2017 trailer.
    • Q: How bad are the developers' attempts to make us think about the rightfulness of Ellie's actions (and our own, since we are playing as her) through increased brutality of murders? And what about the "grey morality" in the game? A: You will be pretty fucking surprised.
    • The noise on PS4 Pro is similar to Uncharted 4. The console "takes off" in the menu but after that it's fine.
    • The game is rewarding you for exploration. There's cutscenes you can miss. The side content is well-developed, he never regretted exploring all the buildings in the game.
    • Q: Should I binge the game in 3-4 days or play for 1-2 hours a day, prolonging the experience? A: I think both options will work just fine. But it seems to me that sooner or later you will give up and choose longer playing sessions.
    • Someone asked if the locations are "too tiring" since the atmosphere in the trailers and gameplay videos are very heavy. A: Do you remember the Iron Man 3 ad campaign when Marvel advertised the film as a serious confrontation between Iron Man and Mandarin? Basically, Marvel was showing a false tone and a false plot in the trailers.
    • In the two-hour segment of the game that journalists were allowed to talk about in the previews there was a "super-scary" part that scared him more than RE3 as a whole.
    • Q: Is it true that TLOU2 sets the bar really high and is a beacon for other studios? A: It's true! (note: one of the other reviewers also said that "in some aspects TLOU2 is the best in the industry")

    Ellie & Joel (2014 vs. 2020)

    Posted: 06 Jun 2020 09:29 PM PDT

TLOU2 reveal reactions from 2016. Look at how excited these people are, and yet the game was still at least 3-4 years away from release. And now we're in the final two weeks. We waited 4 years, we can wait another measly few days. SO PUMPED

    Remember this on 19th June

    Posted: 06 Jun 2020 09:31 AM PDT

Begin the story knowing that you will experience something that you will always remember and think about for the first time, and the emotions you will experience the first time will be unique and unrepeatable, live them 100%, without regrets. Remember this when you turn on the console on June 19th

When we played the first part in 2013, we were not fully aware of what we would have experienced in those 15 magnificent hours, but with the second part we know what we will go against. Remember this when you take the controller on June 19th

Many will not be able to play this title, loved ones, friends, teachers, they shared our same passion, but they will not be able to live it this time, but we can and must, we will live this experience for them too. Remember this when you see the main menu for the first time

Many workers sacrificed immensely to create and deliver this experience, despite the criticisms, the difficulties, the uncertainty of disappointing millions of people, all to allow you to live a unique experience that you will remember. Remember this when you select "new game".

The Last Of Us Remastered PS1 Alternate Cover & Case

Never spent this much money on a game let alone a pre-order but I’m so excited for this. The first game has been my favorite game ever since I played it and I know the sequel will be great!

Anyone else sad to see Ellie all grown up?

    Posted: 06 Jun 2020 07:58 PM PDT

The first game made the player take such a parental role towards Ellie that I find it kinda sad to see her as an adult. I obviously love her as a character and I'm excited to play as her/revisit her character, but I feel like we're gonna see all of her innocence gone :(. I guess you can argue that her innocence was already taken away from her in the first game (especially at the end of winter). It's funny because I'm the same age she is in part 2 so i feel like I'll really be playing as her which will totally change my mindset. I'm sure I'll still love the game but I'm interested to see how the loss of that parental aspect will alter the feeling of the game compared to the first one.

    Thank you mods!

    Posted: 06 Jun 2020 09:30 AM PDT

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the mods for making the sacrifices they have to ensure that this subreddit isn't riddled with spoilers. The fact that they continue to vet posts is a sign of how great they are, and how much they must love this community. I hope you (the mods) are well, and that regardless of what you have read or seen, you still enjoy Part II as much as many people here in the community will, because of your help.

My favourite feature in part 1 isn’t what you think...

    Posted: 06 Jun 2020 03:22 PM PDT

I remember my brother playing this game, and he was running and gunning thinking it was like halo or a typical shooter. We all grew up on that. But TLOU made you walk. slow down and appreciate all around you. It's my favourite thing about part 1. To just slow down and take it all in. Here's to that feeling in part 2.
