r/TheLastofUs Quarantine Update Posted: 27 May 2020 12:07 PM PDT Hi everyone! We recently conducted a poll where an overwhelming majority of you voted to unlock certain posts for commenting. We will begin rolling this out today, starting with discussion/question posts. Other types of posts may also be unlocked at mod discretion (trailers, State of Play, etc.) Please be patient as we will be screening each comment before they appear. A few reminders moving forward:
Steps for locking your Reddit DMs to trusted users only: FOR OLD REDDIT: FOR NEW REDDIT: FOR MOBILE: You can access Desktop Reddit by logging into Reddit on your mobile browser, tapping the three lines on the top right, tapping Settings, and hitting Request Desktop Site. To turn off chat/DM notifications, use the Reddit App, go to Account Settings → Manage Notifications For extra protection, you can avoid spoilers on desktop by using the Spoiler Protection extension on Firefox or Chrome. Put in all the keywords you want to use, and it'll put a big colored box on the spoiler so you know not to click it. Suggested keywords to add are The Last of Us, TLOU, Joel, Ellie, Jackson, Part II, Part 2, and other names of characters, places, or factions you already know from any Part II content. Note that it only works on desktop, not mobile. Finally, our modmail is always open for any questions and comments. We're so excited to be hearing from you all again! As always, endure and survive! WARNING. YouTube search auto-filling P2 spoilers Posted: 27 May 2020 01:22 PM PDT This has probably already been shared but I just realized, while typing "the last of us" into YT to find the State of Play, it suggested searches containing spoilers. Beware. Edit: For those unspoiled, here's some hope: don't assume what you read is a confirmed spoiler. I'm thankfully not totally spoiled, and if I've learned anything it's to take what I've read with a grain of salt. So even if I see a potential spoiler, until I play it and see it for myself, I see it as just that: a potential event. [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 May 2020 03:20 PM PDT With the themes the game is trying to convey, I feel like a good gore system is needed. The first game knew that gore was necessary to visually display the brutality of the combat and the ugliness of what you would have to do in order to survive. The second game, which we all know, focuses on hatred and the cycle of violence. Violence is going to be a huge part of this game. Especially especially interpersonal violence. What better way to show the consequences of such violence than through the systems that Naughty Dog have put in place Here are a few that we know about:
However, from the trailers and gameplay we've seen so far, it looks like we'll get a lot more gore than the first game. I really feel like it's a necessary thing to have toned up and more realistic gore if the game is to be darker than the first game. In short, here's what I think we can expect: realistic blood physics, more visceral explosions, and overall more detailed/accurate bodily deformation. (See the new State of Play to understand what I mean) [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 May 2020 08:38 PM PDT Guuuuys, after watching that new gameplay footage (twice so far haha), I am SO pumped! I don't even know where to begin with talking about how amazing it looks. I am seriously blown away by how complex and in depth it looks. It looks like there is sooooo much to explore and so many different ways to go about playing. The gameplay looks like it will be awesome. Whoever was playing made it look easy, but I think they are just very good at the game. I can see myself dying so many times. I am also conflicted... I don't want the story ruined for me and I'm looking foward to discussing the game with everyone on here. The problem is, if I play the way I like to play, I think it's going to take me ages to finish the whole game. I love exploring every nook and cranny and trying to see everything, but I will only be able to play one to 2 hours at a time. I'm debating playing the story line through and trying to minimise the exploration for second play through. What are people's thoughts? [link] [comments]
Its wonderful to see people commenting now :) Posted: 27 May 2020 02:47 PM PDT I know its only for discussions and questions but its just so awesome to see peoples opinions and their excitement for tlou 2! [link] [comments]

What I learned from the Live Stream Posted: 27 May 2020 09:02 PM PDT Never hesitate to kill when you have a hostage. Lol, the player in the live stream was killing without a second thought! Busted in, molotoved a dog and its owner, hit 2 people with an arrow, popped another person in the face with a suppressed pistol, then stealthily killed someone with an arrow to the face which alerted thier friend. Boom! Crafted a bomb, tossed it, and missed. Ran through the mist to kill the survivor then saw the other enemy and grabbed the person as a hostage. When control was gained, they immediately shot the other person in the face and knifed the hostage. I do not want to know what happens when you hesitate lol. [link] [comments]
