Reviewer who played and beat Part 2 (and seemed to love it based on retweeting Cory Balrog) is going back to play Part 1. For those who are afraid of Part 2 “ruining” the original, I see this as a really good sign

Review copies are out and some people who hated the game are eagerly waiting for it to give a fair chance on 19th June.

    Posted: 26 May 2020 09:10 PM PDT

On 19th june, not only we will be able to play this gem but we will also see double standards of the fake people who literally bash the game during the leaks and said "We won't buy the game and will never play it". Some of this people have already started to post about giving it a fair chance on the release not even remembering what they said before.

Wishing all the best to the hard working people at naughty dog. Just waiting for 19th June to see everyone's reaction 🙂

The Last of Us Part II - opening screen

    Posted: 26 May 2020 02:41 AM PDT

Let's look at these title screens.

    Posted: 26 May 2020 12:51 PM PDT

Part I title screen – The overall theme of the first game is love, specifically the love a parent has for his child. This title screen matches that: a room (Joel's life), the darkness of the room (death of Sarah), the light from the window (Ellie's relationship with Joel). Sound-wise, we can hear on this title screen the sound of flies, birds, and the wind, and we can see ivy on the window. In short: there is movement and there is life. It's warm.

Now let's move on to the Part II title screen – The overall theme of the second game is hate. Revenge. Primary colors in this title screen: gray, light blue. These are cold colors, colors that are just dull. There is no sunlight, it's just dim fog. Sound-wise, there is almost nothing to hear. Just the quiet sound of the water. No music, no melody. No insects, no birds singing. No life.

Summary: these title screens reflect the overall mood of both games in a smart way. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

Just be aware, there's some people with review copies breaking their NDA with bits of gameplay and screenshots.

I think Cory Barlog is trying to tell us something…

    Posted: 26 May 2020 12:58 PM PDT

This weekend Cory Balrog bombarded his own twitter with gifs from the movie Amadeus (about Amadeus Mozart and Salieri). From one particular scene specifically, where Salieri checks the music notes made by Amadeus Mozart and they just blow his mind completely. You can easily find this scene on Youtube, just write: "Amadeus best scene".

So if Cory Balrog was actually playing The Last of Us: Part II, he cannot say on Twitter if he liked the game or not (because of embargo and stuff), but I think these gifs look like a MASSIVE hint that he loved it. I will just quote what Salieri was saying in this scene:

"Astounding. It was actually beyond belief. These were first and only drafts of music, but they showed no corrections of any kind, not once. He had simply written down music already finished in his head. Page after page, as if he was just taking dictation. And music… Finished as no music is ever finished… Displace one note – and there will be diminishment. Displace one phrase – and the structure will fall. It was clear to me: that sound I had heard in the archbishop's palace had been no accident. Here again was the very voice of God. I was starring through the cage of those strokes at an absolute beauty".

So you know, posting a dozen of gifs from this scene while playing The Last of Us: Part II does not look like an accident, right? And yeah, he replied his latest post ("I am forever changed.") with a gif from the same scene. I feel like someone is a little bit jealous of Neil…

Can the mods make a mega thread for the reactions of those who have played Last Of Us 2?

Would love to see a compilation of reactions in one thread instead of having to scroll and find em

My favourite part of the 1st game

    Posted: 26 May 2020 10:11 PM PDT

I can't put my finger on why I love this part so much. Maybe it's the dialogue, maybe it's the fact that ND seemed to put a little extra effort in to the interior sections. But I absolutely love the last when you escape the sewers with Henry and Sam.

Right before you get pinned down by the sniper, you have the chance to upgrade your weapons and explore a few houses. Then there's a small part with some dogs.

I can't explain it but I love exploring those couple of houses. There's one room with a bunch of sports posters on the wall and another room in the attic with a combo for the safe.

Maybe it's because it's a super chill part right after the hectic sewer. I don't know what it is, but it's a part of the game I love the most. Just thought I'd share.

The game is reportedly banned in the Middle East & it's not available for me as well which is odd considering the PlayStationME is promoting & talking about the game. Just a heads up if you live in the ME
