The comments made by Druckmann about female characters are about representation and not hatred of attractive women

    Posted: 22 May 2020 04:46 PM PDT

So a group of critics has arisen around Druckmann and the devs of the game, talking about how reducing the feminine features of female characters is in fact more sexist than leaving them or having a bunch of attractive women in the game. All Neil is talking about is that if all female characters are extremely conventionally attractive and they show it off, it is going to become more and more of a standard. A standard that is not physically possible for the vast majority of women without making changes, and a standard in terms of dress that some may feel uncomfortable with but then be pressured into doing.

Take Ellie. In my opinion, she looks like a very attractive person in the upcoming game. But her clothing doesn't totally emphasize her looks, she isn't forced into positions where her sex appeal is exaggerated, and most of what we like about her character doesn't have anything to do with looks. Obviously the look makes her a bit more palatable, but her emotional openness, optimism, purpose, and subtle character additions (humming, body language, etc) make her so great. She is just a person who happens to be attractive. Its ok to be attractive, its just when its obviously exaggerated for no reason other than sex appeal when it becomes a bit too much, and potentially a bad example to set for both men and women playing the game.

I just finished The Last of Us for the first time

Great game overall. Everything I could possibly say about this game has already been said but this game really delivers, the characters and narrative are awesome and the world and gameplay really suck you in. Unfortunately I personally feel the gameplay went downhill from Fall onward, but I can't complain too much because everything else was so perfect and it was probably just me being bad at games in general lol. Anyway, that's all, good game and I'm excited for Part 2.

Thoughts on Joel's actions at the end of TLOU

    Posted: 22 May 2020 11:02 AM PDT

People who think Joel did the right thing discount Ellie's final speech. I recently replayed The Last of Us, and long ago I was in the camp that Joel did the right thing. Now after replaying, he definitely was not in the right. And regardless of your thoughts on whether humanity was worth saving (I argue Tommy's community and his wife, Sam and his Brother are all good examples of why they were worth saving) or if a cure could be made (why would you deny them the opportunity to make a cure with an immune patient sample?), Ellie's speech at the end sealed the deal. She wanted her whole journey, her sacrifices, the loss of her friends to be worth it. She wanted to contribute, in the best way she could, as an immune patient, helping to make a vaccine to prevent future deaths like Riley's, Tess's, Sams... and Joel takes it all away (and in my second playthrough) murders plenty of fireflies because he is too cowardly to lose her? Not to mention I brought it up when I met Troy Baker at a convention and he also agrees Joel did the wrong thing. So why are so many players insisting Joel did the right thing? Just because you can sympathize with his feelings, does not make his actions correct.

If you order the new controller on Playstations Offical Website and get expedited shipping you will get it earlier than anywhere else

    Posted: 22 May 2020 01:00 PM PDT

I saw a lot of people on twitter namely, saying they saw people get their controllers and how theirs wasnt coming until after the 25th. Its because retailers like best buy and gamestop domt have them yet to ship them to you. Playstation.com is the way to go. I got mine and its pretty slick!

(I'll be honest I wish the design popped a bit more as you need a good source of light to really see it but I'm all about minimalistic art so it's still cool af)
