Which skills are necessary to survive the LoU setting? Posted: 28 Dec 2019 10:13 PM PST Considering the rules of this subreddit I don't know if this post is exactly allowed or not, but here we go... I have seen many games of the apocalypse kind(zombie kind as always) and of course the main characters usually tend to either have prior knowledge and skills to be able to deal with it or they just seem to be able to "learn as they go" very fast.Which I know is necessary so players aren't easy targets, but would not be as common in real life. So my question is: "If we somehow ended up in a situation similar to the setting of TLoU, which skills would you deem extremely necessary for a survivor to have, both as a lone wolf and as part of a community of survivors?" How to do “continue new game plus”? Posted: 28 Dec 2019 02:40 PM PST Hello, I'm very new to PS4 and just beat this game for the first time. I read online you can play it through on the same difficulty level and keep all of your stats, like health and weapon boosts, but I can't figure out how to get them to carry over. When I select "continue new game plus" on the main menu, it allows me to start a new game on only the same difficulty level I completed it on, but none of my stats are there. I've tried a few different things like using different saves but I can't get it to load them. For reference, I'm playing the remastered version. Thank you in advance! [link] [comments]
Trying to sneak past the area where me and Sam are alone. Normal difficulty. Need help. Posted: 28 Dec 2019 02:16 PM PST Regardless of how I go about it, I'm always spotted. Sometimes I don't even know how. I keep trying and trying and trying but everything I try results in ruin. I can't analyze the patterns the clickers and stalkers do because I'm constantly focused on not being spotted during such an action. It makes no sense to me. Is there some kind of perfect strategy path you fellas have that I could use while also gathering all gears and pills? Perhaps a link to a recording of such a path, anything like that? Really could use it. [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 Dec 2019 11:40 AM PST So I've just finished my first play through of Part 1 in three or four years, and I realise that a (possibly irrational) concern about part 2 has arisen. Part 1 is a dark game, but that atmosphere is contrasted heavily with the constant paternal/filial relationship of Joel and Ellie, especially the latter providing levity to situations with her innocent approach to early situations in the game. My concern is that with Pt2's apparent focus on "hate" and its darker, Punished Ellie, we might lose what made the first game's core special after the 'event' that sets Ellie on the path of revenge. I can't see Joel being that beacon either - and how long can the player focus on a desire for revenge when there isn't a lightning rod like Ellie constantly there reminding us of our goal? It's likely an irrational concern, but I think it's also an interesting point to raise that I haven't seen many mention. [link] [comments]
Finished the game & here are my thoughts. Posted: 28 Dec 2019 03:04 PM PST Incredibly late to the party but I had a blast on Normal (yeah shit on me lol). I had a little bit of time & I got the game so off I went. SPOILERS Coming in, with all the praise surrounding the game, of course I had my hopes up. It was a damn good game but I went in expecting a "holy fuck this game broke me". Some aspects, or the lack of it, were left unsatisfying. The nuances of the seemingly clichèd survival story made it the best "zombie" narrative I've witnessed. Though no death really hit me hard, the scene after Ellie brutalizes David was a masterpiece. Though a big part of why I'm left quite unsatisfied are (1) the relationship of Joel & Ellie. (2) Joel, though a great character, didn't really enter deep in to my heart which is why I'm excited to plat as Ellie in Part 2. To elaborate more on the Joel & Ellie relationship, it's like there were a lot of steps that were skipped for it to end that way. I think it needed 3 to 4 more powerful scenes to solidify their relationship. Because if I were Joel, what happened between us would not have been enough for me to think of Ellie as ny daughter, somewhat much less chosing her over the fate of the world. I think the story needed two to three more impactful cutscenes in between these to connect (1) Joel giving a gun to Ellie (Joel warming up to Ellie) & (2) Holding her after she killed David (wholly accepting Ellie as a daughter Figure). Probably another actual Father-daughter cutscene prior to the whole drowning fiasco nearing Salt Lake City. Amazing game 8.5/10! [link] [comments] |
