This game is flawless, I love this moment I captured. You FEEL the heartache and how human Ellie is right here.
It's been almost a year since I've played through Part I to experience the story. I'm going back in tonight. Can't wait!

I lost a loved one to the virus last year and started this game shortly after, probably as some subconscious coping mechanism. As a result, the way I deal with loss is not unlike Ellie. I've come to associate the music of this game and it's energy with mourning and loneliness. Yet, in a way I can't explain, that's a good thing. It's strengthened how I deal with death, sadness in the world and so much more. I'll pick up my guitar and play some songs from the soundtrack, or Future Days, and that sense of grief will soften. I am thankful, drained from the past year, and I've grown in so many ways.

It's good to get that off my chest. Hopefully that doesn't seem too dramatic of a response to a video game. It really does mean that much to me, and I hope others have also survived the past year because of it.

Endure and survive.
