I have 120+ hours on this game and this is the first time I’ve seen this animation

I played this game for the first time and mentally cried inside most of the way through.

I just bought the PS4 Remastered version of The Last of Us. After around 21 hours over 2 days I finally completed easy mode. This game just threw one situation after another at me. The combat system was actually very good, crafting was easy and similar to Resident Evil. I was kept up and aware through most of the playground due to the ever changing parts of the story. The only negative thing I hate, the Clickers. Those damn Clickers in large groups are a pain in the ass, especially when you have no shivs and you're low on ammo.

100/10 About to go through every difficulty.

I just finished part 1 left behind

    Posted: 04 Aug 2021 02:05 PM PDT

I finally got round to playing it and I completed it in about 2 or 3 hours and the scene where Riley and Ellie were bitten just broke my heart. This is the first time I've ever been so empathetic/sympathetic to a video game character. In my opinion, this is the best zombie game and its also my favourite game I'm going to buy part ll when i get round to it any tips, please no spoilers. Thanks :)

I also think l should point out I already played the campaign so l knew Ellie was bitten.

    Ellie's evolution

Finally going to play this game myself, cannot wait to start this journey it's been a long time coming.

    Posted: 04 Aug 2021 04:34 PM PDT

Honestly cannot beleive it took this long for me to start this series but it was all down to not having the right console to play it on, originally watched the first game be played part of the way through by FrankieOnPC a long time ago when he was about and stopped watching because I knew I wanted to play it myself one day. Finally got myself a PS5 and got the time to sit down a few times a week to play. Anyone else not play the games for a good while after their release?

Part 2: Personal Belongings. Possible Spoilers.

    Posted: 04 Aug 2021 06:21 PM PDT

I was thinking about how Abby lost everything. Not just her family and friends but also any items that had sentimental value. When she leaves on Day 1 she will never go back to the Stadium. She has all kinds of items that remind her of her dad and SL in her room. She looses her backpack on the island. She then takes Owens backpack in Santa Barbara along with the sailboat. 2 items to remind her of Owen. She looses both after the rattlers.

But!!!!! When Ellie goes to the aquarium she picks up Owen's firefly dog tag and its a collectible.

I really hope in Part 3 Ellie and Abby pass roads again. I would like to see them have an actual conversation about the events that happened (we never saw a conversation about why anyone was doing what they are doing). And then Ellie gives Abby Owen's dogtag.

    Ah a perfect world 💚

    I finished Part II recently.

    Posted: 04 Aug 2021 08:30 AM PDT

Like the title says, I finished TLOUP2 just a couple days ago and it was a really emotional journey. I started it about a year ago when it came out through a friend via game share on PlayStation but it got very annoying to the point where I deleted it off my console since then getting the game for myself was all I wanted.

It wasn't until the 24th of June this year I managed to get it for myself. When I bought it, I held off on playing it since my brother experienced part of it with me when I first played it and I assumed he wanted to watch me continue. We witnessed Joel's death together which we both were upset over as I'm sure many of us were and got up to the near end of day 2 in Seattle before I deleted it.

Though he never showed interest in picking it up again with me, I started playing it again when I was visiting my sister in Washington (convenient since a good majority of the game is in Seattle). Anyways I was originally part of the majority who disliked Abby for what she did even though I didn't experience the full story. It wasn't until I began playing it through her prospective I understood why she did it. While I'm not personally a fan of the random doctor (Jerry) you shoot in the first game as being the cause of the B-Plot, however it made sense that Joel's actions in the past caught up to him. This event ruined Abby's life she was doing what I'm sure any of us would have done in that position. If not a family member than a friend or just a close person you love. Essentially it felt realistic to me.

As the story went on, I began liking Abby more especially when it came around to saving Yara and Lev. She wasn't as bad as people claimed, in fact quite the opposite. She was willing to put her life on the line for those that many of her associates and friends considered enemies.

It was up until the WLFs invaded the Seraphite Island and Abby's POV caught up with Ellie's was where the emotional roller coaster really began once more since Joel's death for me. The fight with Ellie really got me going since I didn't really want to. I felt sad for both characters, especially Ellie when it's basically shown she suffers with PTSD as she relives the events of Joel's death over and over again in her head and this causes her to lose sleep among other things.

Now despite this, I was happy to see her settled down with Dina and JJ as she looked as though it was quite peaceful for a time. Wasn't until Tommy showed up that rather rekindled her vengeance for Joel by wanting to kill Abby once more. It got to the point in the game where I didn't want Abby die as I sort of grew a connection playing as her.

When you reached Santa Barbara first as Abby I sort of noticed a parallel from the beginning of the game where she was almost put in the same position as Ellie when they were captured by the Rattlers. While it may not be related, it was all I could see. Then getting there as a rage fueled Ellie wanting nothing more than Abby dead so she can finally let go was both insane and emotional. When you finally come to where you can see a weakened Abby, practically left for dead I was hoping Ellie would be the bigger person and not fight Abby in her current state. Boy was I wrong. Almost finishing the job, I think what went through Ellie's mind is this isn't what Joel would have wanted. She'd be no better than her surrogate father's killer if she just orphaned Lev by taking out his caregiver and I thought that was the right move on her part on letting Abby go.

While not being her actual parent Joel raised her, gave her a second chance at life. In the first game we understood why he did what he did was because throughout their journey the pair grew close with one another and I didn't think he could bear losing another one of his loved ones. While she blames him for their still being no cure, Ellie cared about Joel deeply otherwise she wouldn't have went on this bloodthirsty quest for vengeance if she didn't care. In Abby's case I also understood why she did what she did as she lost her father in a way the game comes full circle. Abby for most of her life after Jerry's death was just like how Ellie was, not wanting anything else but the person responsible for her parent's death dead. But that's what makes them both differently, Ellie didn't allow herself to kill Abby despite coming close to it since she realized the consequences that could come with it. The cycle could just start all over again and it'd begin again with Lev wanting Ellie dead for killing Abby.

In conclusion, It's funny to think when I picked up the first game, I thought of it as just a generic zombie apocalypse type game and I can admit I was dead wrong. It explores many themes and also I think us being able to understand both sides of the story in this game was one of the main reasons it has become one of my new favorites. I definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn't picked it up yet!
