    Last of us 3 ?!

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 06:29 PM PST

I can't wait for part 3. Without a doubt in my mind I believe there will be a part 3. There's a lot of story to be told a lot. Just finished part 2 for what seems like the 100th time, don't skip any cutscenes and always leaves me speechless. Sad in a way but looking forward to what's next!!

A little error in the Cutscene at the Theater

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 04:47 PM PST

Spoiler warning for people who haven't gotten to this section.

Anyways, during the start of the fight at The Theater, Abby has Tommy hostage and has her gun pointed at Abby. Her gun goes off as Tommy makes contact with her, but her finger was never on the trigger. If you slow it down all the way, she never puts her finger on it. And then the second shot that happens when she struggles with Tommy, she shoots again, but her finger still isn't on the trigger. Something that was overlooked, but not a big detail. Please don't bash me if I've gotten something wrong, or if the gun was able to go off from it being thrown around during the fight.

Youtubers who like the last of us part 2

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 06:25 AM PST

I personally liked the game but I know a lot of people didn't. I'm fine with that but I don't want to watch a play through where someone's just mad the entire time. Do you guys have any recommendations for youtubers or streamers that actually enjoyed the game?

    Permadeath tip

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 04:54 PM PST

Pro tip: Dont let Dinna, Jesse or any friend die.

I was at the end of 1st day at Seattle, escaping from the horde of infected. Then a runner took Dinna and for some reason I ignored it and run away.

Turns out u have to hit him. Dinna instantly died and I had to repeat the whole day :D

Ellie’s depression from the first game

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 11:35 AM PST

I just finished re playing the first game with the DLC after 4 years of completing it for the very first time because finishing Part 2 last week made me want to revisit it.

What I missed the most from the first game was Ellie's cheery attitude ignoring that there were times where she was all gloomy like she is for the most part in the second game but thinking of her being deeply depressed did not cross my mind until Left Behind where you can see Winston's note saying Ellie wore the mask (cheery attitude) very well.

it is not said but i think that note was wrote before Riley went to the fireflies when her and Ellie were "better than good", as Ellie says.

Do you guys think her attitude in part one was just a mask to avoid any inquiries about her mental state? I used to suffer from depression and the last thing i wanted was to talk about it and i always pretended everything was fine.

Knowing all this makes Part 2 even sadder because Joel's death was what made her snap even further

thoughts on ellie and abby mirroring

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 11:57 AM PST

in many ways they mirror each other and even each other out. but another way hadnt thought of is how they spare each other multiple times, 4 in total.

1.abby leaving ellie alive after killing joel.

2.abby sparing ellie and dina again after their big seattle theater showdown.

    1. ellie cutting abby and lev free in santa barbara.

    2. ellie sparing abby in their final beach fight.

and there is also a chaotic butterfly effect to the fact that in abby sparing ellie, she saved her own life in the end. because if abby had killed ellie in seattle, ellie would never have went after abby in santa barbara and her and lev would half rotted away on that beach like the other corpses strung up.

i do think though that ellies plot armor shines a little too brightly at times. like why didnt abby shoot ellie, dina and tommy without a second thought? ellie murdered her lover. i just didnt completely buy it.

abby gave her a chance, and ellie wasted it. abby couldve killed ellie feeling less guilty about it knowing she gave her that chance to begin with.

I'm unable to start NG+ on Survivor+, despite having beaten the game on Grounded? (The Last of Us Part One Remastered)

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 04:30 PM PST

Hey all, thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

I am currently trying to complete the Platinum for TLoU Remastered, and just finish a NG+ run on easy to collect all of the artifacts. However, now when I try to start NG+, it will only let me do so on Easy+.

The only single player trophy that I have left to do is to complete the game on Survivor+. I have beaten the game on Grounded, and the game's statistics confirm that it knows I have beaten it on Grounded. But when I check chapter select it only says that I have completed it on easy.

Does anyone know if there is a way for me to start NG+ on Survivor+ without having to do an extra playthrough of the game? I don't really want to do two whole playthroughs on a harder difficulty for one trophy.

Thank you again for any help!

The Association Bias Test (Entry Number 4)

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 07:54 AM PST

In the time I've been gone, we did less of the experiment because of different things interrupting us. But tonight we finished the first game. So let me tell you, from Pittsburgh to Jackson, how my friend thought of The Last of Us.

In Pittsburgh, upon meeting Henry and Sam, she thought that they were very chill, enjoying Ellie and Sam's interactions, becoming engulfed in pain as she was forced to watch them die.

She couldn't recall much of her reactions to the Jackson segment of the game, Regarding the confrontation Joel and Ellie had, she found the performances to be strong, and saw the scene to be surprising and sad to see them get real and argue for the first time.

In the university, she was taken aback by the sudden appearance of hunters, and the moment Joel got impaled, it shocked her to her core, feeling his pain as he struggled to simply lift his gun.

Upon switching to Ellie, she thought Joel was dead and that was it for him. When the former met David, she was immediately uneased by his presence. As the winter section played out, discovering David's men were the ones at the university, she, and I quote, went "ew, bad." She wanted Ellie to escape David and for Joel to find her, and during the boss fight, she felt tense as she faced off against the man who wanted both her and Joel dead. Once she grabbed the machete, and hacked into his face, she celebrated and rejoiced as he met his ultimate fate. Afterwards, crying in Joel's arms, she felt bad for Ellie and further admired their father-daughter-like relationship.

Upon arriving in Salt Lake City, not much happened, but when the duo interacted the giraffe, she highly enjoyed and rejoiced as there was finally light in the dark, torturous game.

Within the hospital, when hearing that Ellie had to die for a vaccine, she started to go in denial, and I quote, "went through all the stages of grief at once." She wanted desperately to save the immune girl from death. Upon entering the room, seeing the doctor, knowing who he was, it made her feel sad as she saw Abby's connection to the first game at last other than simply Ellie. When escaping and shooting Marlene, she was left aghast as Joel shot the woman who had cared for so many years the girl he was running away with.

Regarding the lie as a whole, she was once again left surprised by the storytelling choices, doubting Joel's actions.

All in all, she adored the game for the visuals and, bugs aside, for a game made half a dozen years ago, she found it to be stunning in how it looked and was awed by how smooth it was, becoming immersed in their situation.

We have already begun Part II and will continue tomorrow.

    Look for the light.
