One cool thing I noticed after finishing my first playthrough when the game dropped, was that both Ellie and Tommy become mirror images of each other.

Their separate but connected quest for vengeance leaves them both physically crippled, emotionally destroyed, and abandoned by their spouses.

It was neat to see Tommy go through his own personal journey and character arc, even though Ellie was obviously in the spotlight.
