Some fun character moments from the scene where Ellie and Dina get high together.

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 11:12 AM PDT

This is an excerpt from IGN's written preview back in September:

Ellie and Dina's various conversations during their patrol paint a picture of relatively peaceful, almost mundane life at their Jackson, Wyoming encampment. That peace is shattered as the level ends with the aforementioned snowstorm. Once the two reunite, they take shelter in a nearby building, beneath which they discover another survivor's cache full of wilted pot plants. It's a story moment rife with cute character moments I adored, like Ellie discovering a VHS with porn (featuring a Crash Bandicoot pun, to boot), or Dina smashing open a jar of blunts the two can't seem to otherwise open, or Ellie and Dina discussing how good their first kiss was.

This isn't new information by any means, but I just saw it for the first time and thought it was cool. The "rate our kiss" conversation and the weed were both shown off in the trailer, but I had no idea about Ellie and Dina finding porn on a VHS or struggling to open a jar lol.

I hope some people find this interesting. I love Ellie and Dina's chemistry so far, hopefully Dina doesn't get killed in the beginning of the game.

For me, this may be the most powerful scene in the game.

Ellie hacking David's face with the machete. So, in the moment, I felt so much relief and joy seeing Ellie hack the shit out of David's face. The way he called Ellie special and pinned her on the ground led me to believe he had some . . . perverse intentions. That combined with the cannibalism and his charismatic yet creepy way of speaking led me to despise David. So at first, I loved seeing Ellie hack his face up but in the rest of the scene, where we see her completely break down in Joel's arms, something we hadn't seem from Ellie up to this point, changed my whole perspective of the scene. She was traumatized from this experience and her reaction just broke my heart. The rest of the scene plays with just music, no voices, and we see Ellie is just broken. The final shot with the camera panning over to the machete still lodged in David's head just seals the deal. The music, voice acting, cinematography and meaning behind the scene make it my favorite scene in the game, despite how sad it is to watch.

    Interactive Optional Dialogue

Does anyone else find themselves really looking forward to some of Ellie & Joel's little side dialogue that you can opt into occasionally? I hope there's more of that in Part II (more often I mean).

Neil follows Kaitlyn Dever on Instagram... any chance this has anything to do with the new HBO series? Potential casting for Ellie perhaps?

Am I the only one that think the latest patch(1.10) was the worst patch ever?

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 11:34 AM PDT

I played this masterpiece once again with my PS4 Pro in almost a year recently and maybe it's just me but I feel the game doesn't run like it used to be.

In my opinion, texture pop-in has gotten worse, character motions are a bit more flickery, and most of all, an enemy ai is now very random and dumb. I witnessed many human ai's being dumbfounded after I got caught. They used to come to the location I was caught and try to find me but in this build of patch, I have found them more than often just standing thier prior position while they are still on 'alert mode' which allow them to sight me even though I tried to stab them by their backs. I'm playing on Grounded difficulty by the way, if that's the case of difficulty.

I read the latest patch was about graphical enhancement and I suspect maybe something went wrong with the patch.

Am I the only one who suffer from such issues or is it really the patch's wrong doing?
