[Ending Spoilers] Flaws with Fireflies' plan Posted: 30 Jan 2020 05:20 PM PST At the end of the first game, the Fireflies want to cut open Ellie's brain to create a vaccine, with the general notion being that it will make life better and encourage people to join them. However, I've realised that there are several problems with the idea that don't get brought up in-game. NOTE: I'm not savvy on vaccine creation and distribution, so feel free to enlighten me in the comments if you can.
This isn't a knock against the game's writing, in fact, I think it adds depth by creating a parallel between Joel and the Fireflies. Both strive for a goal based on selflessness: Joel doesn't want to live without Ellie and will forsake anyone who tries to stop him, while the Fireflies want to sacrifice her to create a cure that they [misguidedly] believe will be a step towards fixing the world. Posted: 30 Jan 2020 03:43 PM PST I'm pretty sure I've never noticed any difference between using a brick or bottle but for some reason my go-to is brick. Why? I don't know...The only thing I can say is I mentally feel safer with a brick?... I was at this party once where a drunk guy was nailed in the head with an empty beer bottle. He just kinda laughed it off and kept going. Maybe he would have been more hurt if the alcohol hadn't kicked in..? Idk lol But, I definitely think it would have been a different story if someone threw a brick. [link] [comments]
How to get past the infected Ellie level on survivor? Posted: 30 Jan 2020 10:31 PM PST I'm stuck on the final part where all the infected at coming at us with the bloater. I have two molotovs and nail bombs but I'm struggling to get past any of them. Is there a trick to this? [link] [comments]

Theory that I'm 95% sure won't actually be in the game Posted: 30 Jan 2020 01:58 PM PST In part 2, Ellie might be able to pass on immunity in the same way infected pass on the cordyceps through bodily fluids. I just got the idea thinking about the scene in the hospital in part 1 where Marlene says that the cordyceps inside Ellie's brain had "mutated" (this was the doctor's theory as to why she's immune) and we know infected pass off their unmutated spores through bodily fluids, so maybe Ellie could've passed on the 'cure' to Dina and her mentioned ex, Kat, unknowingly. And we'd have another scene like Ellie and Riley's "lose our minds together" but Dina/Kat doesn't turn and Ellie basically becomes a living vaccine. Thinking about it's application in story though, makes it seem a bit too much like a Deus Ex Machina, which is why I'm pretty sure it won't actually be in the game. But it's just an idea. The last of us part 2 metacritic predictions Posted: 30 Jan 2020 01:50 PM PST 96 for me. It's hard because there could always be some idiot who will throw the average down with absurd marks.... [link] [comments]
Ellie's immunity, could it be compromised? Posted: 30 Jan 2020 12:58 PM PST So we know that Ellie is immune to the cordyceps, due to her white blood cells destroying the fungus, and she is the only one that could do that. So my question is that in a hypothetical situation, where Ellie's immune system may be weakened to due external factors, or that maybe she one day could become old and her immune system could be compromised, could the fungus take control since her whit blood cells are not operating the way it should? Sorry if i may sound ignorant in this post, I just find the thought interesting to me that maybe she could still be affected by the fungus. [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Jan 2020 10:21 PM PST I'm trying to get all collectibles on this playthrough. I'm in the checkpoint area on chapter 5 and I accidentally skipped to the next area, missing most of the collectibles from the previous area. My question is if I replayed chapter 5 through chapter select and continuing until finishing the game, will I still get all the trophies? [link] [comments]
Little detail i thought was cool Posted: 30 Jan 2020 10:48 AM PST Remember when Sarah died, well in that scene If you go back and re-watch it, when the army dude is about to finish Joel, Joel quietly says "Please Don't" and in TLOU 2 release date trailer, we see Ellie in that position only this time saying "Please Stop!" Posted: 30 Jan 2020 06:11 PM PST Why don't bloater spore bombs count as inhaling pure spores? Why does it damage health, rather than essentially just essentially infect you upon inhalation? [link] [comments] |
