Posted: 15 Oct 2019 07:34 PM PDT I haven't played the game since it first came out, but just started replaying it. Hoo boy, I forgot how intense the first 15 minutes is. Now, being a father makes it so much more brutal. [link] [comments]

The Last of Us: Promised Land (a fanfiction idea type of thing for Tess DLC) Posted: 15 Oct 2019 10:54 PM PDT Three years after the outbreak, Tess deals with the aftermath of her parents' death while searching for her brother and sister. Her experiences in the dangerous, post-apocalyptic United States shape the confident and capable woman we saw in The Last of Us. The DLC lasts about four hours and tells a pretty complex story, depicting several settings such as quarantine zones, abandoned areas inhabited by Infected, counties or cities taken over by different factions, and more. Tess' siblings basically get kidnapped by a certain gang and there's some really interesting narrative that comes out of that, such as her dynamics with the gang itself and what they force her to do, how the desperate quest to save her family drives her to make ruthless choices and also how she becomes so well acquainted and knowledgeable of the world of The Last of Us. Like Joel and Ellie, Tess has had some of the most dark and bleak experiences in this world. In the beginning of TLoU you see that she has a deep knowledge of how things work, she knows how to deal with things quite well and it also affects her dynamic with society. In TLoU Tess and Joel are some of the more successful people in their bubble, and just how Tess got there is a story worth exploring in my mind. I will probably write more on this, stay tuned! Minor spoilers for The Last of Us 2 Posted: 15 Oct 2019 08:48 PM PDT As you probably can recall, I posted a theory regarding Ellie just a while ago. As I realised I could be more informed about some details regarding the game before making half assed theories (which I still think have merit, though), I decided to do some research. I'm not aware how many people know about this, but IGN have given some minor spoilers regarding a demo that was played.
Link to the article itself. uk.ign.com/articles/2019/10/02/36-new-the-last-of-us-part-2-story-character-release-details All of this is new to me and haven't seen anyone say anything beyond theories and thoughts on here so thought I would share it for those who are interested. Tommy getting captured and the existence of the WLF are the biggest ones for me. Haven't seen anyone mention the possibility of Tommy getting captured...or what this might mean for the fate of Joel. It looks bad to me. I can't imagine Joel not going to help rescue his brother. Just hope he makes it through it alive, but frankly, given that Tommy is walking around talking to Ellie later I doubt it. It could be Dina who dies, of course, but I still think that's a little too on the nose. [link] [comments]
